NEWARK, Delaware - The American International College men's soccer team more than held its own, but No. 14 Post University was awarded a penalty which it converted with just over four minutes to play for the game's only tally in a 1-0 setback for the Yellow Jackets on Thursday, September 5.
AIC falls to 0-1-0 on the season.
Lucas Morales-Fernandez was busy in the first half, making four stops, although one of the contest's best chances early came off the head of AIC rookie Pietro Botasso in the 13th minute.
In the second half, the Yellow Jackets defense tightened up, holding the Eagles to just one shot on target in the run of play.
Unfortunately for AIC, a foul inside the box was called with 4:02 left on the clock, and Luca Dettoli converted what turned out to be the final shot attempt of the contest.
AIC returns to action against Wilmington University on Saturday, September 7 at 4:00 p.m.
