HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Molly Leavitt opened the scoring at the 2:00 mark, and AIC notched six straight tallies in the frame, as Jordyn Galgay, Isabelle Stone, Anevay Rice, and Antonella Mikolyuk all struck before Galgay became the first repeat scorer at 14:25. She also notched two assists, on Stone and Mikolyuk's goals, while Mikolyuk and Rice set up Galgay's tallies.
- The second period was much quieter, with Leavitt scoring the first goal at 9:40 before the Golden Falcons broke the shutout. However, Rice and Leavitt quickly countered, leaving AIC up 9-1 at the break.
- The hosts did score the third quarter opener at 2:13, but AIC answered emphatically, as Rice, Mikolyuk, and Kathryn Moody each scored to extend AIC's lead to 10 goals and start the clock running. The Yellow Jackets did not slow, either, with Sam Giordano, Mikolyuk, and Leavitt striking to put AIC ahead 15-2 heading into the last period.
- Leavitt tallied her fifth, Elly MacDonald scored a quick pair, and Giordano scored before setting up Galgay shorthanded to close the game out in style as the Yellow Jackets hit the 20 goal mark in the success.
FOUR TIMES FIVE:
- Leavitt, Mikolyuk, Galgay, and Rice each notched five-point showings.
- For Mikolyuk, Galgay, and Rice, it is their second five-point performance, as all had at least that many in the opening win over Saint Thomas Aquinas.
- AIC has scored 20 goals in both wins this season.
- The team has 54 goals for in four games, more than halfway to last season's 101 goals in 13 games.
