HOW IT HAPPENED:
- AIC roared out to an early lead as Moody scored two goals in the first 1:05, with the opening strike set up by Liz Day.
- The Owls battled back, and despite Moody's third of the frame, tied the game at 3-3 before the quarter ended.
- The hosts took the lead on a Kelly Jagodzinski strike at 3:17 of the second, and the lead lasted until Moody scored a fourth at 9:33. However, the Owls hit the net twice more to take a 6-4 lead into the halftime break.
- The Owls added five of the first six goals in the opening 9:01 of the second half, with Moody scoring her and the team's fifth as the only AIC goal in the run, but the Yellow Jackets pushed back late with two more from Moody to complete the second hat trick and a goal by Jordan Galgay as well, pulling to within 11-8 after three.
- Anevay Rice pushed the deficit down further by opening the scoring in the fourth. The Owls retorted with two, but Isabelle Stone, Galgay, and Antonella Mikolyuk each scored to get AIC within one heading into the last minute. However, the Owls were able to keep the tying goal out of the net and hang on to the 13-12 win.
MOODY MANIA:
- Moody's seven goals is the most in a single game by a Yellow Jacket since Day struck for eight against Dominican on March 10, 2020.
- The seven points marks the second time this season she has notched that amount in a game; she had six goals and an assist against Saint Thomas Aquinas in the season opener.
NEXT UP:
- The Yellow Jackets will face Assumption University on Saturday, April 2 at noon in Worcester, Massachusetts.
