As one of the youngest head coaches in the nation in any sport at any level, Gargiulo had an outstanding first season, with the team in contention for a playoff berth through the final day of the campaign despite extremely limited numbers due to injury. Frederique den Hartog shined in net in her and Gargiulo's first campaign, winning the NE10 Rookie of the Year Award, a first for any AIC field hockey player. Graduate defender Morgan Martellio broke the AIC single-season defensive saves record with 13, including tying the NCAA Division II single-game record with five at Adelphi, and also garnered NE10 Academic All-Conference honors. The team was named an NFHCA Team Academic Award winner, and for the second straight season - both with Gargiulo on the coaching staff - led NCAA Division II in GPA.
Gargiulo brings a wealth of experience to the position, having most recently spent the 2023 campaign as the lead assistant for the program. She worked with all aspects of the team, and particularly with the goalkeepers, helping Taylor Wildes '24 to earn a selection to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II Senior All-Star Team, the third such selection in program history.
From July 24-31, she participated in the Zag Olympic Tour, a collaboration between the NFHCA and Zag Sports Tours, giving her the oppotunity to spend time in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France learning from elite coaches and witness field hockey at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
She also has additional coaching experience from serving as the goalkeeper coach for the James Vick Foundation's U16 and U19 teams and additionally as the head coach for the U16 team, providing one-on-one lessons for high school and college-aged keepers.
Gargiulo's experience in field hockey and the Northeast-10 Conference also includes her time as a dominant student-athlete at rival Assumption University. She posted a 46-13 record across 59 games. She held a 1.02 goals against average and .797 save percentage, with 26 career shutouts. The Greyhounds reached the NCAA Tournament each of her three seasons as a starter, including a pair of NCAA Semifinal appearances.
Her best season was in 2021, where she went 20-2 with a 0.81 goals against average and .838 save percentage en route to a Northeast-10 Conference title and NCAA Semifinal appearance. She was named a First-Team All-American by both Synapse Sports and the NFHCA, as well as NFHCA East Region Player of the Year, NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year, and NE10 Tournament MVP.
Gargiulo earned a bachelor's degree in human services and rehabilitation with a concentration in occupational therapy from Assumption in December 2022.
