
AIC leads AHA with 29 All-Academic selections and seven Student-Athletes of the Year
BOSTON, Massachusetts – Atlantic Hockey America announced its 2024-25 All-Academic Team and Student-Athletes of the Year, with the American International College ice hockey team leading the way with 29 All-Academic selections and seven Student-Athletes of the Year.
The AHA All-Academic Team honors those student-athletes who posted a GPA of 3.0 or above for both semesters of the academic year, while the Student-Athlete of the Year Award is granted to student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA for the academic year.
AIC's winners of the Student-Athlete of the Year Award encompass three academic years, as juniors Josh Barnes, Brett Rylance, and Casey McDonald are joined by sophomore Douglas Andersson and rookies Tobias Larsen, Adam Manji, and Justin Mexico.
Barnes earned his third consecutive Student-Athlete of the Year Award, maintaining a 4.0 GPA for his entire academic career to date.
In addition to the seven Student-Athletes of the Year, the All-Academic honorees included graduate students Jordan Biro, Lauri Sertti, and Danny Weight, seniors Oscar Geschwind and Evan Stella, and juniors Brett Bamber, Chase Clark, Blake Dangos, Timofei Khokhlachev, John Lundy, Alexander Malinowski, Hunter McCurdy, David Posma, and Noah Serdachny.
Underclassmen who won All-Academic honors also include sophomores Theo Angesved, Dario Beljo, Peyton Grainer, Alfred Lindberg, and Hunter Longhi, as well as freshmen Wilhelm Forsberg, Tyler Procious, and Tanner Willick.
