The At-Large award recognizes student-athletes in the NCAA's championship sports which do not have their own individual Academic All-District Team. Institutions can nominate up to six student-athletes on both the men's and the women's team, and the nominees can be from any of the sports.
To qualify for the award, student-athletes must hold a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale, and must be at least a sophomore academically. Additional qualifications in terms of contest participation vary by the sport.
On the men's side, a trio of ice hockey student-athletes won Division I Academic All-District, as Brett Callahan, Nico Somerville, and Jordan Biro were honored. The three were joined by two from men's lacrosse and one wrestler who garnered Division II Academic All-District, as Rowan Ruggiero and Andrew Boyer were selected alongside Jack MacKiernan.
All six of AIC's women's Academic All-District selections were at the Division II level. Four came from field hockey, with Taylor Wildes, Brooke Szafran, Morgan Martellio, and Justine Lalli being selected. Gabrielle Walz and Robin Trombly from women's lacrosse also were selected.
Additionally, Wildes, who was an NFHCA Senior All-Star, advanced to the Academic All-America ballot, based on her academic accomplishments coupled with national athletic recognition.
