Bio
American International College named Alyssa Jones, MAT, LAT, ATC as an assistant athletic trainer in late October 2024.
Jones comes to AIC from Brandeis University, where she was an assistant athletic trainer responsible for the Judges’ volleyball, women’s basketball, and baseball teams. While at Brandeis, she was responsible for evaluating acute and chronic injuries, as well as designing and implementing treatment and rehab for those injuries. She also provided primary coverage in games and practices as well as in a clinical setting, utilizing several modalities and various equipment to aid in this process.
Prior to her time at Brandeis, Jones was a certified athletic trainer at Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center, assisting physicians in providing care as well as performing initial assessments and both fitting and educating patients with a variety of assistive devices.
Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of West Alabama in 2020, and followed up by earning a master’s of science in athletic training in 2022. While earning her master’s degree, Jones worked with West Alabama’s baseball and women’s soccer teams in 2020-21 and the football team in the fall of 2021, and then the University of Alabama at Birmingham softball team in spring 2022.
Jones carries a Massachusetts state licensure and is Board Certified. She additionally is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is certified in first aid and AED use by the American Heart Association.
