Bio

Jameson Bonti was named assistant men's rugby coach prior to the start of the 2022-23 season. He will assist in all aspects of the program.

Bonti brings in significant rugby coaching and playing experience. He served as a defensive coach for the NAV 7's Rugby program, as well as with the U-23 Panther Rugby 7's Academy, and in those roles was responsible for developing practice and training regimens for the team as well as scouting and film analysis. With the NAV 7's team he coached several current USA Eagles, with multiple top-10 finishes nationally, and won the USA Rugby 7s Men's National Championship with the team in August 2022.

He also served as the head ccoach of the Carolina Geographic Rugby Union Selects Program and the Tobacco Road Rugby Club, where he led those programs to improve player development and feedback as well as creating systems of play for the team.

In addition, Bonti has served as the Sports, Teens & Outreach Director for the YMCA, where his duties included fundraising, managing budgets, working with at-risk youth, and developing the culture of the staff.

Bonti graduated from nearby Springfield College with a degree in sociology in 2016. While at Springfield, he was a captain as a senior and earned Goff Rugby Report All-American status. His team reached the club national round of 16, the highest finish in Pride history.

Bonti is a Level 200 USA Rugby Certified Coach currently working on his Level 300 Certification.
