Bio

Joe O'Brien was named Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations prior to the 2022-23 academic year.

O'Brien comes to AIC following a stint as the graduate assistant for compliance and operations at fellow Northeast-10 Conference institution Southern Connecticut State University. There, he assisted with game setup and breakdown, oversight, and in-game marketing and promotions. He also managed the department's master calendar, assisted with maintanence, and tracked eligibility for current and prospective student-athletes. He also brings experience from the University of Bridgeport and the University of Pennsylvania; at both, he worked operations, leading student workers before, during, and after games, including the Ivy League Basketball Tournaments in 2018 and the 2020 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Regional.

O'Brien obtained his master's degree in sport and entertainment management from Southern Connecticut in December 2021; he earned a bachelor's degree in sport and recreation management with a general business minor from Temple University in 2018.
