Bio
Scott Foulis joined the AIC Athletics Department when he was named Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance in August 2022, and was named Interim Director of Athletics on August 16, 2024. He will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Department as well as report to the President of the College.
In his prior role as Assistant AD for Compliance, he ensured that the College’s athletic teams adhered to the rules of NCAA membership and met the requirements of the conferences to which AIC belongs, with a primary focus on the Northeast-10 Conference. Foulis was also responsible for managing certifications for student-athletes and overseeing all other aspects of compliance. Additionally, he served as the sport oversight for several of AIC’s teams and worked on projects to support student-athletes academically.
Foulis brings a wealth of experience to the position as a college coach and municipal recreation administrator. Most recently he worked as an administrative coordinator for the Wilbraham Parks and Recreation Department. In that capacity he helped develop and oversee a wide range of community-based sport, recreation, and activity programs.
He also brings over two decades of experience coaching women’s basketball at the NCAA Division I and Division III levels. He served as an assistant coach with the women's basketball team at Amherst College for the 2021-22 season, helping the team to the 2022 NCAA Division III Final Four. Prior to Amherst, he was the associate head women’s basketball coach at Brandeis University from 2007-21, where in addition to his coaching duties he taught classes in the physical education department. While at Brandeis he coached current AIC Director of Athletics Jessica Chapin, with the team reaching the NCAA Division III Elite Eight in 2009.
Before Brandeis he made coaching stops at Springfield College, Bucknell University, the University of Massachusetts, and the University of Rhode Island. While at Springfield he was a graduate assistant in athletic administration and worked in the athletic department at Western New England College.
Foulis earned an undergraduate degree in sport management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and his master’s in athletic administration from Springfield College. He and his wife Jill have three children - Chelsea, Evan, and Colin.
