Bio
American International College Department of Athletics brought home one of its own, naming Tyler Moccio ’21 MS as its Strength and Conditioning Coordinator in August 2024.
Moccio will work with all of AIC's teams.
Moccio most recently was a strength and conditioning specialist at the Avon Old Farms School, a premiere preparatory school in Connecticut whose alumni include 2017 World Series MVP George Springer and 2012 Conn Smythe Trophy winner Jonathan Quick. He helped the Winged Beavers continue their tradition of excellence in his three years in Avon, developing, administering, and implementing strength and conditioning programs for 13 varsity teams at the school as well as many sub-varsity programs; his work helped the Winged Beavers win eight Founders League titles and a New England Championship in that time.
Additionally, Moccio has been a personal trainer at Fitness First in nearby Feeding Hills, Massachusetts since 2018. While there, he developed individual fitness programs for clients, some of whom have been trained by him for all six years.
Moccio earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Merrimack College in 2017 before coming to AIC to earn a master’s degree in exercise science in 2021; while a student, he interned at the MassConn United Training Center, helping to train youth, collegiate, and professional ice hockey players. He later became a strength and conditioning intern at the College of the Holy Cross, working with five teams including the 2020-21 Patriot League Champion football team.
In addition to his academic credentials and experience, Moccio is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and is adult and pediatric first aid/CPR/AED certified by the American Red Cross.
