Bio
Nick Callini was named the 15th head baseball coach in American International College history on October 20, 2003. He is the winningest head coach in baseball program history, with 264 wins through the start of the 2024 season.

Nick Callini was named Head Baseball Coach in 2004 after serving as the team's Assistant Coach in 2003. He is the all-time wins leader in program history.
Callini led AIC to one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2023. The squad won 23 games, fifth-most in the nearly nine-decade history of the program, and qualified for the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Tournament in its lone season in the Northeast Division. Josh Frometa earned D2CCA All-American honors and headlined three All-Region selections, while Brendan Edvardsen was the NE10's Rookie Hitter of the Year while batting .403.
The Yellow Jackets enjoyed a successful season in 2018, posting the second-most wins in a single season during Callini’s tenure with a 19-25 record. AIC finished tied for fourth place in the Northeast-10 Conference’s Southwest Division, with highlight victories against national No. 6 University of New Haven on March 30 and No. 15 Le Moyne College on May 5. Under his guidance, pitcher and utilityman Matt Costanza earned First Team All-Conference and First Team All-East Region honors.
Callini led the Jackets to a second-place finish in the NE10 Southwest Division and earned and hosted a playoff berth for the program for the first time in 15 years in 2015. American International finished the season winning 12 of their final 14 games to compile a 17-21 record overall and a 10-8 mark in divisional action. Callini coached five All-Conference selections in 2015, including two second-team members, the Rookie Player of the Year and an All-Region honoree.
From 2011 to 2015, his program saw a drastic turnaround, collecting 15-plus wins in each season, including finishing over .500 in 2013 when the team went 21-19 overall and 12-15 in conference play thanks in large part to All-Region Selection and Second Team All-Conference player Dave Clark.
Callini was made full-time in Fall 2008, and added additional duties as the coordinator of the College’s Academic Resource Center, part of the Center for Academic Success.
In 2003, Callini joined the staff as an assistant coach. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Trinity College (Conn.) in 2002 with a minor in models and data. He was a member of two consecutive NCAA Regional Tournament teams, and the Bantams won the NESCAC title his junior season. During that season, he was named the team’s Most Improved Player and received the John E. Kelly Gold Glove Award as the Bantam’s defensive MVP.
He currently lives in Westfield with his wife Kristen and daughters Hannah and Meredith.
