Bio

The American International College baseball team added Zach Theulen as an assistant coach in January 2022. Theulen will assist in all aspects of the program, with a focus on hitting as well as the catchers.

Theulen comes into the program at AIC with a wealth of baseball experience. Most recently, he served as the assistant coach at nearby Westfield State University, working with pitchers, catchers, and hitters. While there, he ran workouts, aided in developing game and practice plans, and helped recruit. He also was an assistant coach at Springfield College from 2014-16 and Wesleyan University from 2016-17.
 
He also has served as a head coach for Southern New England Stealth Baseball, with their AAU 15U and 16U teams; previously he had worked from 2017-20 in a similar role with Seacoast United Sports Club.
 
Theulen earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies and social sciences from the University of Bridgeport in 2013, where he played his junior and senior seasons after transferring from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. He also played for the Pittsfield Suns of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League in 2011. Theulen obtained his master’s of education in physical education and advanced level coaching from Springfield College in 2016.
