Women's lacrosse falls short against No. 20 Saint Anselm
SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's lacrosse team battled hard in a setback against 20th-ranked Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday, March 26.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Hawks scored two quick goals to take a 2-0 lead just 1:06 in, then doubled that lead in a 13-second span less than seven minutes in before Molly Leavitt hit the net for AIC to break the run. The Hawks countered with three more, before Anevay Rice scored with 31 seconds left in the period to cut the lead to 7-2.
- Antonella Mikolyuk opened the second quarter scoring on a fabulous individual effort, and Sam Giordano and Leavitt each added goals in the period as well, but the Hawks netted five to take a 12-5 lead into the break.
- In the third, the Hawks posted two before Leavitt notched the hat trick at 7:19. Jenna Balboni closed the scoring, giving the visitors a 15-6 lead through three.
- Mikolyuk found Kathryn Moody free in front for a goal at 1:07 of the third, but that was it for the AIC offense; the Hawks scored four more to take the game 19-7.
MIKOLYUK FINDS A WAY:
- Mikolyuk leads AIC in three major stats categories.
- She has a team-best eight assists and 35 draw controls.
- She is also tied for the team points lead with Rice at 18.
