SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts – American International College has named Victor Parsley as Director of Cross Country and Track and Field, Interim Director of Athletics Scott Foulis announced on Tuesday, September 10.
"It's exciting to be able to add a coach of Victor's caliber to our department. He's achieved some truly impressive results throughout his career, and his vision and enthusiasm for AIC Track & Field and Cross Country are going to have an immediate positive impact for our student-athletes," Foulis said.
"It is an honor to be named the Director of Cross Country and Track and Field. I am very excited to be at a wonderful institution with a great athletics department. I believe with our roster, coaching staff, support staff, and administration, we will be able to continue to build and succeed, not just in a competitive Northeast-10, but regionally and nationally as well," Parsley said.
Parsley brings significant experience to AIC at the high school and collegiate level, most recently as the sprints, distance, and relays coach at St. Joseph High School in Trumbull, Connecticut. Coaching there since 2022, he helped train 20 All-FCIAC selections and three FCIAC champions.
Prior to his time at St. Joseph, he coached at St. Mary's College of Maryland and at Post University. At St. Mary's, the cross country team won both men's and women's titles in 2021, while at Post he trained a total of 37 All-ECC and All-CACC selections from 2019-21.
Parsley also coached the New Haven Age Group TC from 2016-19 and at Christ the King Regional High School in New York from 2012-15, and in both places his athletes went on to earn conference and regional recognition, and five earned USATF High School All-American status.
Among Parsley's proteges is Alexis Holmes, who was a four-time high school All-American and won an NCAA Division I National Championship at Kentucky along with eight collegiate All-American honors and numerous conference-level honors between Kentucky and Penn State. Holmes went on to earn the Gold Medal in the 4x400-meter relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics among numerous other international accolades.
As a student-athlete, Parsley was an 18-time all-conference selection in the NYCAC and later ECC for the University of New Haven, where he ran from 2001-05; he also played football for three seasons for the Chargers before graduating with a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management in 2006.
He is a member of both USATF and the USTFCCCA, and has passed USATF certification in Basic Principles of Endurance Training and Sport Specific Strength and Power as well as earning an NFHS Track & Field Certification. He is also SafeSport Compliant and CPR certified.
